Jovy holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and is a designated Chartered Professional Accountant. He commenced his accounting career in 2012 at an Edmonton firm and focused on small to medium-sized businesses, prior to further specializing in taxation, compilations, reviews, and audits during his time at Ormrod & Company. Jovy is committed to ongoing development, and has also further pursued advanced courses in personal and corporate taxation, business acquisitions, restructuring, financial analyses, and business valuations. He is also a registered Mentor with the CPA Professional Education Program and has coached articling students from within the office, to students who work in government organizations and private sector companies, and assisted them to meet required competencies to earn their designations.
On his spare time, Jovy believes in giving back to the community and has volunteered at Canada Revenue’s Tax Clinics for low-income families, seniors, and students and has also coached minor ice hockey. He also enjoys reading exciting tax legislation updates, playing hockey (competitively or not), any outdoor activities, and spending time with his family and Siberian husky.
